Beverley Roles
The emotions of Grief and loss are a natural response to someone or something that you have or had an attachment with, but at times these emotions can feel overwhelming and can impact on your normal functioning and on your health.
As your counsellor I will help you to make sense of these feelings, to listen, to understand what this is like in your world. Grief and loss can have a ripple effect on yourself, relationships and the wider environment around you.

About me and my practice
As a integrative psychotherapist I offer you a non Judgemental, compassionate space where you can begin to unravel some of the chaos in your mind and empower you to take control of your life and feelings, especially when things have been out of your control. I will provide you with tools to use grounding techniques to help stabilisation, and be more present in the moment. understanding how your mind works will equip you with knowledge and feeling more at ease with yourself.
I work online or face to face, I work from home offering you a relaxed and homely feel. This also enables me to keep my fee low, I usually recommend coming every 2 weeks to give you time in-between sessions to process any thoughts, however I would work with to decide what you feel you need.
Experience
I worked in a childrens hospice for 18 years, firstly as a health care practitioner then as a counsellor. During this time I was able to establish a counselling service to support families who's child is going through the journey of hospice care or end of life care. Counselling can help families to feel empowered to make memories, managing difficult conversations to other family members. Being there so they can talk through their fears so they dont have to carry these alone. It also enables some parents to begin to manage difficult and complex emotions when their baby or child has been diagnosed with a terminal illness, condition or additional needs.
I have provided training sessions for the wider care team who work at the Hospice on Managing difficult conversations empowering the care team to feel confident to communicate with families on end of life care for their child.
As part of my role I also organised the annual memory day for the families to attend to celebrate their childs life alongside other families.
Since 2019 I have worked with Petals charity as a senior counsellor providing counselling for couples and women who have experienced pregnancy loss, still birth, fertility issues and birth trauma. At times it can feel like their is no hope, like your being left behind whilst friends are having their first babies or more. You may feel like your body is letting you down and no one around you understands this it will happen your young you have time it wasnt meant to be.
Alongside this I have my own private practice where I work from home in stanstead Abbotts
